The majority of the MEPH systems were either replaced or validated and repurposed, with all new HVRF systems to the guestrooms and new VRF systems to the public areas installed, inclusive of new condensers and air handling plant to the fully renewed main roof.
The main challenge was validating and integrating existing MEPH systems, with new MEPH plant. This was done in close collaboration with the consultant team and our specialist, management team. We maximised the commercial and environmental benefits of retaining some systems, rather than stripping everything out and renewing. At all stages, the client was appraised of the benefits and potential pitfalls of this approach which has resulted in a successful outcome.
